MANGALURU
The formation of Karnataka state, or Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with a splendid ceremony by the district administration at Nehru Maidan on Wednesday.
District in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao delivered the Rajyotsava speech.
Several achievers and institutions received the district level Rajyotsava award.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Vedavyas Kamath, Legislative Assembly speaker UT Khader, Deputy Commissioner MP Mullai Muhilan, Mayor Sudhir Shetty Kannur and others were present.
A grand procession was held prior to the celebration. School children performed various dances on Kannada language and culture.
