Mexico City

Max Verstappen secured a dominant victory at the Mexico City Grand Prix, taking the lead at the start of the race to finish ahead of Lewis Hamilton, marking his 16th victory of the season. Verstappen’s victory in Mexico was his fifth win on Mexican soil, surpassing Jim Clark’s three victories and establishing a new all-time record. The race took place in front of 152,668 fans, a historic mark for the Mexican Grand Prix, with 400,639 fans attending over the weekend. Unfortunately for Red Bull Racing, the race had a dark side as Sergio Pérez retired on the first lap. Pérez attempted a double pass in the first corner, attacking Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc from the outside and colliding with him. Although Pérez returned to the pits, his car sustained too much damage to continue. Finishing in second place behind Verstappen was Lewis Hamilton, who gained from the first-corner incident. The Englishman from Mercedes closed the race 13.8 seconds behind Max and also secured the extra point for the fastest lap. Charles Leclerc recovered from the early incident with Pérez and completed the podium for Ferrari. Fourth place went to Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz, and McLaren’s Lando Norris finished fifth. The top 10 included George Russell (Mercedes), Daniel Ricciardo (AlphaTauri), Oscar Piastri (McLaren), Alex Albon (Williams), and Esteban Ocon (Alpine). The next Formula 1 race will be held from November 3 to 5 at Interlagos for the Brazilian Grand Prix.
