A soldier was arrested on Sunday in connection with the alleged murder of his wife in Kathua district, Jammu and Kashmir. The soldier, identified as Bhopinder Singh, was taken into custody after his wife, Sarabjeet Kour, was found strangled to death in their home in Kunde Chak Marheen village on Saturday morning. The Rajbagh police station in Kathua district registered a case, and the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the murder. Bhopinder Singh reportedly confessed to the crime after being arrested. Following the completion of medico-legal formalities, the victim’s body was handed over to her relatives for cremation. The tragic incident highlights the importance of thorough investigations into cases of domestic violence and the need for legal action against perpetrators of such crimes.
