There have been strong rumours of Ajith playing a professor in H Vinoth’s #AK61, with Kavin joining the cast as one of his students. But a source associated with the project tells us that there is no base to these reports, but maintains that there is a strong possibility of him being part of #AK62, which will be helmed by Vignesh Shivan.
“Kavin is not in this film. He has been approached for Ajith’s film with Vignesh Shivan, which will go on floors only after the star actor completes #Ak61,” clarifies the source, adding, “Kavin is already playing the lead in Oor Kuruvi, which is being produced by Vignesh and Nayanthara’s production house, and the two share a good rapport. So, Kavin may be part of #Ak62, but it’s too early to confirm anything now.”
Meanwhile, Ajith will start shooting for #AK61 in Hyderabad from tomorrow. The team has erected a huge set of Chennai’s Mount Road at a studio there, and an important component of that set-up is a bank. The film is a heist thriller, the story of which was narrated by Vinoth to Ajith while filming Valimai. The female lead is yet to be announced, though we hear that a popular south actress has been approached for it.
On the other hand, Vignesh had narrated a script to Ajith three years ago, and both had verbally committed to doing a film together, which has fructified now. The film – #AK62- has music by Anirudh, and is expected to go on floors by the year-end.
