Actor Dr. Shivarajkumar has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should intervene and hold talks between the two states in the wake of the crisis in the Cauvery water sharing issue.

Speaking to media persons on Sunday,  he said that the problem will be solved only if the Central Government intervenes. In a difficult situation, talks should be initiated between the governments of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. If we talk to both the governments, the problem will be resolved, he said.

We will always stand by the farmers on the Cauvery issue. Pressure should be put on the ruling government through struggle. It would be good if everyone sits down and decides on how to put pressure. The struggle of Kannadigas should be of great scale. It’s not about setting fire to it. Everyone has a fire and you have to fight patiently. I am an artiste and the elders should come together and find a solution to the farmers’ problem, he said.

I will not enter politics. I am satisfied with the film industry,  which is  enough. Geetha Shivarajkumar will be active in the political field. I don’t know which constituency she will contest from. They will contest elections, I will be with them, he said.

I am happy that I have got an award in the name of freedom fighters. The actor said that he received the award with equal enthusiasm and said, Ghost film has received a good response from the audience. I am happy that kannadigas have accepted a different kind of film. If you get people’s encouragement, you can make a good film. It’s different to make a regular film, it’s a different kind of film.
