The official files containing important documents in the Harihara Municipal Corporation office are catching termites. The file room is like a dustbin. The records here are being destroyed. The councillor of the municipality is on his toes to correct this. He urged the government to visit the files room and resolve the issue.

The foundation stone for the construction of a new building has been laid by demolishing the municipal building. The files in the old building were shifted to another room and dumped everywhere. The reason for the anger of the municipal councillors is that a lot of documents are holding termites.

Councillor Ashwini Krishna had visited the city corporation several times in connection with some documents. But the documents are not available. When Ashwini Krishna went to the files room, she found that the termite was caught.

Ashwini said, the officials used to waste time unnecessarily if they asked for documents in the municipal corporation. Since the documents were not given, I went to the file room and looked at it.    But it is painful to see the state of public records, she said.

There are records for the year 1975-85. They keep it safe so that people can get it in times of need.  They are wet and damaged by rainwater.    The state government should pay attention to the file rooms, she demanded.

MLA BP Harish said, they went to construct a new building of the City Corporation and created a mess. The municipality is expected to make changes. We want all parties to go to the government for a delegation and ask for funds.   The government should immediately give funds and upgrade the municipal corporation to a higher level, he said.
