Geetha Chowdaiah of Kamakshi Palya in Bengaluru has bagged the first prize in the State-level milking competition organised by Raitha Dasara Samiti. Her cow gave 46.690 kg of milk and handed over a cheque of Rs 50,000 and a trophy to his owner.
Sheera Hegde of Dudda village in Mandya district, whose cow gave 36.450 kg of milk, came second with a cash prize of Rs 40,000 and won the trophy. A resident of Katappa Garadi in Mysuru. P Sarav Vinod Ravindra’s cow gave 34.160 kg of milk and came third with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. P Srinivas’s cow from Anekal in Bengaluru weighed 34,070 and was satisfied with a consolation prize of Rs 10,000..
10 participants from five districts participated in the competition for cow’s milk on Saturday morning. The prize was awarded considering the weight of the milk got at two times in the morning and evening. There were 10 farmers from Mandya, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Bengaluru districts.
