PM Inaugurates Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System

Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a historic milestone for the nation as he launched the 17-kilometer priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) at Sahibabad’s RapidX station. The newly inaugurated segment between Sahibabad and Duhai Depot is part of the 82.15-kilometer route, with the entire corridor expected to be operational by June 2025. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the Urban Development Minister, Hardeep Singh Puri, declaring the trains of the RRTS as Namo Bharat, a nod to the Prime Minister’s name, Narendra Modi.

During the event, Prime Minister Modi also dedicated two Bengaluru metro stretches, Baiyappanahalli to Krishnarajapuram and Kengeri to Challaghatta, to the nation. Expressing his delight at the transformation of the Railways in the country, Modi emphasized that the Namo Bharat train represents a glimpse of India’s future, showcasing the nation’s burgeoning economic strength. Highlighting India’s recent achievements, Modi underscored the successful organization of the G20 summit, the record-breaking performance of Indian athletes at the Asian Games, and the country’s significant contributions to global healthcare through the production of Made in India vaccines. He also emphasized the flourishing manufacturing sector in India, attracting multinational companies to establish their production units in the country for various electronic devices and defense equipment. Drawing attention to the indigenous production of the Namo Bharat train and its cutting-edge features, Modi emphasized the nation’s progress in diverse sectors, including technology, infrastructure, and defense. The Prime Minister’s speech portrayed a vision of India’s continued development and progress, positioned as a key global player in various domains.
