People’s desires and aspirations are there to make me the CM. After that, I will abide by the decision taken by our party, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar said.

Speaking to the media at a tourist temple, he said, the people of the state have given us the opportunity to rule for five years. Let the party high command decide whenever it decides. We don’t care about anything. First, we have to govern as expected by the people of the state. The rainfall has been less this year. If it doesn’t rain for a day, the government will get Rs 1,000 crore. There will be a loss. The electricity bill will also go up.

But, we will give electricity to farmers at a lower rate. Energy Minister KJ George is handling it efficiently. Whether it rains or not, except the Malaprabha river, all the reservoirs have more than 90 percent of the water stored. But god save the people of old Mysuru, he said.

I have brought a lot of changes in the past when I was the Energy Minister. We used to give six hours of electricity to farmers. But now that our government comes back, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and I have spoken and decided to give seven hours, he said.

The biggest challenge for the State Government is to save water. I have activated irrigation user associations. Rules have been made to bring water to Yettinahole. Water should go up to Bengaluru, Kolar, Chikkaballapura and Tumakur. It becomes difficult if someone lays a pipeline in the middle. He said that preparations are being made to bring a law for the same.Reacting to Satish Jarkiholi’s statement that there is an internal difference between DK Shivakumar and him and not an open disagreement, he said, there is no internal and nothing else. I don’t have any differences with anyone. Why should there be a difference of opinion.
