In a recent event at the Gayatri Mandir in the Kengeri suburb of Yeshavantpur Assembly Constituency, Dr. HS Sudhindra Kumar, the President of the Yeshavantpur unit of the Kannada Sahitya Parishad, emphasized the critical importance of wearing helmets while riding bikes. He highlighted the vulnerability of the head and the challenges associated with repairing damage to it. Dr. Kumar emphasized that while injuries to other body parts can be treated, head injuries are particularly precarious.

In collaboration with Total Energy, United Way, and Need Base India, the event hosted a Road Safety Awareness, Campaign, and Free Helmet Distribution program. Dr. Kumar and other officials distributed high-quality helmets free of charge to individuals aged 18 to 35. Stressing the rising number of accidents, he urged attendees to prioritize safety by wearing helmets and adhering to traffic rules, emphasizing that the well-being of their families depends on their responsible behavior.

Inspector Nagaraj from the Kengeri Traffic Police Station applauded the initiative, emphasizing the need for public awareness. Attendees who received helmets were encouraged to motivate others to obtain helmets as well.

The event saw the distribution of free helmets to 36 young men and women, accompanied by a comprehensive discussion on the importance of obeying traffic regulations. The local community showed appreciation for the initiative, commending the efforts of the Swabhimana Mahila Trust Chairperson Anupama Panchakshari, and other notable individuals such as Need Base India Nagaraj, Rakshit, and various journalists and community leaders who were in attendance.
