Australia’s Min Woo Lee has surged ahead at the Macao Open golf tournament, taking a three-shot lead with a remarkable performance. Lee, currently ranked 46th in the world, combined power and precision to post a seven-under-par 64 in the second round, following his opening round of 62. With a total of 16-under-par at the Macao Golf and Country Club, Lee’s score represents the lowest two-round total in the event. His impressive run included 15 birdies and an eagle since Thursday. Lee expressed his satisfaction with his performance, saying, Flawless golf today. I played really well. The last two days have been probably the lowest two days I’ve ever played. So, it’s been fun. Thailand’s Poom Saksansin is in second place, also maintaining excellent form with a score of 62. South Korean Eom Jaewoong is third, four shots behind the leader, after posting a 65. Eom’s compatriot Meenwhee Kim is in the top five following a round of 66. Poom mentioned, I hit almost all fairways, and my irons were pretty good. I holed most of my putts. Eom set a goal of six-under-par for his round and was pleased to achieve it. Chinese Taipei’s Lee Chieh-po and Indian Kartik Sharma both returned 65s and share the fifth spot with New Zealand’s Ben Campbell, who shot a 68. Scottish player David Drysdale is in joint 12th place with a score of nine under, while defending champion Gaganjeet Bhullar from India is in a group at six under.
