Sex Worker’s Murder Case In Mysuru, Convict Has Been Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

The High Court has sentenced KC Girish, a resident of Koramenahalli in Mandya district, to life imprisonment for murdering a sex worker and robbing her of her gold ornaments 10 years ago. The complaint was filed by the staff of Lashkar Police Station in Mysuru challenging the order of the Sessions Court acquitting the accused in the charges of rape, robbery and murder.

A bench of Justice HB Prabhakar Shastri and Justice Anil B Katti allowed the appeal. It also confirmed the order acquitting the accused of rape charges. But he was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of murder and robbery. The Court also sentenced him to life imprisonment, levied a fine of Rs 30,000 and seven years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000 for kidnapping her before killing her. These two punishments must be experienced simultaneously. Of the fine amount, Rs 35,000 has to be paid to the son of the deceased woman. The remaining Rs 5,000 has to be paid to the State Government  and asked him to surrender before the trial court within the next 45 days. Advocate Tejas argued on behalf of the government.
