Central Drought Study Team To Visit In State Today

In the monsoon season of 2023-24, 06 taluks of Chikkaballapur district have 50% more crop loss, in this background 06 taluks of Chikkaballapur district have been declared as severe drought affected taluks for the next 06 months or until further orders. In the wake of the declaring the Chikkaballapura district as drought prone District, to review the situation of the drought-prone taluks of the district. A Central Drought Study Team headed by the senior consultant of disaster management of the state revenue department Dr. G.S. Srinivasa Reddy will be visiting the district today alongwith the Central Drought Study Team of Central Water Commission Director V. Ashok Kumar,  M.N.C.F.C. Center and Deputy Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Kiran Chaudhary, Under Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Sangeet Kumar and others. From 10:10 am to 10:20 am Chokkahalli village of Chikkaballapur taluk, from 10:50 am to 11:00 am Bandamanahalli village and then from 11:05 am to 11:15 am Doddegaanahalli village  farmer’s lands will be visited. Then after from 11:35 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. the team will be visiting Jakkenahalli village of Gauribidanur taluk and from 11:55 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. Gangasandra village and from 12:15 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kadabur village farmer’s lands will be visited. Later, District Collector P.N. Ravindra has informed in the announcement that the team will be travelling to Madhugiri Taluk of Tumkur district at 1:30 PM.
