Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has convened a meeting with people’s representatives of Udupi district to address the concerns of building materials supplying lorry owners in the district. The meeting is scheduled to take place today in Bengaluru and will be attended by Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Udupi district, In-charge Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar, Minister for Mines and Geology S S Mallikarjuna, and other officials. The MLAs and Congress leaders had previously met with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and requested a joint meeting to resolve the issues surrounding lorry owners. In response, the lorry owners have canceled a planned foot march yesterday in Udupi city. Raghavendra Shetty, leader of the lorry owners’ association, stated that the protest against the new GPS system would continue indefinitely until the issues are resolved.
