In a concerning incident, the city police have taken swift action by apprehending the driver of a school bus who was caught driving on the wrong side of the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. The Ramanagara police acted promptly, confiscating the bus and taking the driver into custody after a video capturing the bus speeding against the traffic flow surfaced online. The video, despite being an older recording, gained attention recently when it was shared on various platforms, including platform X. Responding to the public outcry, Additional Director General of Police for Traffic and Road Safety, Alok Kumar, assured that appropriate actions would be taken against the driver. What makes this incident even more alarming is that there were 12 students on board the bus when it was recklessly navigating the wrong side of the road. This blatant disregard for traffic rules raises concerns about the safety of young passengers. This episode is not an isolated occurrence, as there have been multiple reports of vehicles entering the wrong side of the busy Bengaluru-Mysuru highway. Alok Kumar had previously issued a stern warning that FIRs (First Information Reports) would be filed against drivers found in violation of traffic regulations on this critical route. The arrest of the school bus driver serves as a stern reminder of the importance of road safety and adherence to traffic laws, especially when it comes to the transportation of schoolchildren. Authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident to ensure the safety and well-being of all road users.
