MLA ST Somashekhar, representing Yeshavantpur constituency, has unveiled plans for the systematic development of government schools in the area. His announcement came during the inauguration of the new Government Junior Primary School building in Gandhinagar, located in the Kengeri suburb. Addressing the gathering, MLA Somashekhar emphasized the joint responsibility of both the government and society in providing a conducive educational environment for Kannada medium schoolchildren. He expressed his commitment to transforming Yeshwantpur constituency into an educational hub through collaborative efforts with the government and the private sector. He lauded local organizations for their support and participation in school development initiatives. The MLA also highlighted the ongoing efforts to ensure essential amenities for the constituency, including schools, roads, hospitals, and access to clean drinking water. He commended the government’s positive response to these requests and announced that the Kommaghatta Maternity Hospital would be transferred from the Bangalore City Department to the Health Department to enhance healthcare services. Furthermore, Somashekhar shared an inspiring story of community collaboration. Upon discovering plans to divide BDA land, local residents decided to repurpose the land for constructing a well-equipped government school building, reflecting their dedication to quality education. In an effort to promote social welfare, the MLA announced the commencement of construction for the Dubasipalya railway bridge near Ramohalli cross. The event was attended by several education officials, including Bengaluru South Constituent Education Officer Jayalakshmi, Near East Constituency Education Officer Venkatesh, School Principal Vasant Kumari, and other esteemed guests. Their presence underscored the shared commitment to enhancing educational opportunities and infrastructure in Yeshavantpur constituency.
