Telangana Congress Chief, A. Revanth Reddy, has strongly criticized MIM President Asaduddin Owaisi, likening him to another Nizam. Revanth Reddy also asserted that the Owaisi family did not originate from Hyderabad but migrated to the city from Sholapur, Maharashtra.During a rally at Necklace Road in Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy made what appears to be the first direct attack on the Hyderabad MP ahead of the Assembly polls. He stated that this time, the Congress intends to defeat the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM), a significant political force in Hyderabad.Revanth Reddy questioned Owaisi’s support for Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who has received backing from the MIM since the formation of Telangana state. Revanth Reddy asserted that this time, the Muslims of Telangana would not accept support for KCR, who has aligned himself with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.He accused KCR of supporting various actions of the BJP government, such as the triple talaq Bill, Article 370, demonetization, and GST. Revanth Reddy also alleged that KCR had been involved in corruption, claiming that he had looted one lakh crore rupees and questioned Owaisi about his involvement in this.Revanth Reddy further targeted KCR and his son KTR, stating that it was time to remove them from power. He highlighted the achievements of the Congress government, including providing four percent reservations to Muslims and sanctioning the Metro rail line for the old city, which, according to him, KCR had left unfinished.Revanth Reddy concluded by stating that poor Muslims in the old city had not received double bedroom houses or loans from the Minorities Finance Corporation under KCR’s leadership.
