Hockey India has announced the appointment of Belgium’s Artur Lucas as the coach-cum-video analyst for both senior and junior teams. In this role, Lucas will work with all four of India’s hockey teams: senior men, senior women, junior men, and junior women at the SAI Centre in Bengaluru. Artur Lucas brings a wealth of experience to this position. He previously worked for the Royal Belgium Hockey Association as the performance analyst for the U-18 national team from 2018 to 2023, contributing significantly to the team’s development and success. In addition to his work with the U-18 national team, Lucas served as an analytic consultant for Biztory Belgium in 2022, enhancing his analytical skills and providing innovative insights to the sport. Lucas has also played a pivotal role at KHC Dragons since 2017 as a performance analyst, offering crucial analysis and support to one of Belgium’s top hockey clubs. Furthermore, from 2015 to 2021, he was associated with Victoria Hockey Club, Edegem, in various capacities, including youth manager and coach. Hockey India President Tirkey expressed delight in welcoming Artur Lucas to the Hockey India family, believing that his extensive experience and expertise will enhance the performance of India’s hockey teams as they strive for international excellence. Artur Lucas has already arrived in New Delhi, ready to take on his new role.
