BENGALURU

The animals (both carnivorus and herbivorous) which die naturally or unnaturally (including natural habitant places) are being burnt.  However, the the carcasses of animals have an intrinsic value and contribute to the ecological, genetic, social, economic, scientific, educational, cultural, recreational and aesthetic aspects of human well-being and to sustainable development.  The vultures which consume the dead bodies will increase their natural population.

The dead bodies of wild life are decaying faster than garbage and can exert a large amount on soil properties.  These produce nitrogen, phosphorus, sodium, sulfur and other nutrients that are very important for plant growth.
According to a study conducted, the bodies of elephants will raised the abundance of bacteria and fungal communities for about 15 feet from the ground and and the process will continue for about 40 months.  The elephant's carcass is thought to serve as an important source of cassium for wildlife such as hedgehogs, the scientists have opined.

As stated by Dr. Sanjayagupta, the carcasees of wildlife animals are the determining resource for ecosystem functioning and play a vital role even after their death in maintaining the natural resources.  Hence, henceforth the system of burying the dead animals in the forests have to be stopped and left to decompose enabling other animals and birds to consume it.   This guideline will not be applicable to the tiger, the national animal, the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has stated in a circular.
