In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) Employees’ Welfare Association has pledged to provide financial assistance to the family of Shivakumar, who tragically lost his life in a recent fire accident at the quality assurance laboratory. Amritraj, the BBMP officer and president of the Employees’ Welfare Association, announced that an amount of Rs. 95.5 lakhs will be offered to support Shivakumar’s grieving family. At a tribute meeting organized to honor the late Chief Engineer Shivakumar, CM, who was a victim of the devastating fire incident, Amritraj expressed the deep sorrow felt by all BBMP employees. The announcement of financial aid was met with applause and gratitude from those in attendance. In addition to the substantial financial support, a symbolic gesture of care will take place when a ceremonial check is handed over to Shivakumar’s family in the presence of Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath. The funds will be earmarked for the education of Shivakumar’s children, ensuring their future is secure. Furthermore, BBMP Employees Cooperative Association and BBMP Officers and Employees’ Welfare Association are set to donate two fully-equipped ambulances to the corporation in memory of Shivakumar. These ambulances will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to serve the community and enhance emergency response capabilities. Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath, while addressing the gathering, also assured that a proposal to provide employment to Shivakumar’s wife would be forwarded to the government, offering a lifeline of financial stability to the grieving family. In the wake of the tragic fire accident, an internal investigation is underway to determine the root causes. Chief Commissioner Girinath noted that the investigative process might experience a slight delay, with the report expected to be available in approximately 15 days. The BBMP remains committed to ensuring such incidents do not recur in the future, emphasizing safety and preventive measures.
