The City Traffic Police has officially disclosed a staggering total of 3,099 road accidents in the current year, resulting in 501 fatalities and leaving 2,598 individuals injured. These alarming statistics paint a concerning picture of road safety in the city. Comparatively, the preceding year witnessed 3,822 accidents leading to the tragic loss of 752 lives. The factors contributing to these accidents are multifaceted, including overspeeding, a lack of awareness, and the proliferation of potholes on roadways. Acknowledging the urgency of the situation, law enforcement officials underscored the significant role that media outlets and organizations play in cultivating awareness regarding traffic rules and safety protocols.
