City North Police have arrested seven people for allegedly kidnapping two students from the Light House Hill area and assaulting them.
City Police Commissioner Kuldeep Kumar R Jain said that the incident had taken place on August 23. Ibrahim Tabish and his accomplices had allegedly kidnapped Shameer and Ibrahim Fahim.
The arrested are Ibrahim Tabish from Panemangalore, Abdulla Hannan alias Hannan from Goodinabali in Bantwal, Mohammed Shakeef from Sajipa Munnur, Mohammed Shayiq from Muda village in Bantwal, Abdul Rasheed from Bajal Nanthoor all are aged 19 years, UP Tanveer (20) and Mansur (37) from Muda in Bantwal.
The accused had allegedly picked up a fight with the victims over a personal issue, said police.
Following the complaint from Fahim, City North Police had registered a case under IPC sections 323, 324, 341, 363, 506 and 149, Police added.
