Countdown to the Griha Lakshmi project, one of the ambitious projects of the State Government, has begun and preparations are in full swing at the Maharaja College ground in the city. Women and Child Welfare Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, who is handling the overall responsibility of the programme, held a discussion with the officials about the preparation of the programme on Thursday. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, a video conversation was held with all the Deputy Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of the State regarding pre-preparation of the programme in the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Thursday. After collecting complete information about the outline of the program, the minister suggested that necessary preparations should be made in view of the arrival of about one and a half lakh women for the program. After the video interaction, DCM DK Shivakumar, along with Ministers HC Mahadevappa, Chaluvarayaswamy and MLAs watched the programme preparations at the ground. MLAs Tanveer Seth, Narendra Swamy, Anil Chikka Madu, D Ravi Shankar, Harish Gowda, Darshan Dhruva Narayan, Mahila Congress State President Pushpa Amarnath and senior officials were present.
