Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced the revival of Rajiv Gandhi Yuva Shakti Kendras during an event commemorating the birth anniversaries of Rajiv Gandhi and Devaraja Arasu at the KPCC office on Queen’s Road. These centers, initially established during Shivakumar’s tenure as Urban Development Minister in SM Krishna’s cabinet, had been inactive in recent times. Shivakumar emphasized the significance of Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy, stating that his name represents the embodiment of youthful ideas and energies within the nation. He further highlighted the importance of Devaraja Arasu, whose contributions have greatly influenced Karnataka. Both leaders’ governance models serve as exemplary paradigms for the entire nation. The Deputy Chief Minister expressed his commitment to reignite these youth centers, aiming to empower and awaken the potential of the country’s young population. He acknowledged that Rajiv Gandhi’s name might have led to the project’s abandonment by subsequent governments, but he pledged to overcome such hurdles and revive the centers for the betterment of the youth.
