Malleshwaram hosts voter awareness vehicle campaign

BENGALURU

Election authorities in the tech capital have stepped up efforts to encourage public participation in the ongoing electoral roll update. Senior administrative officials formally flagged off a specialized publicity vehicle campaign to promote the weekend registration drive.

Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner and District Election Officer M. Maheshwar Rao, alongside Additional District Election Officer Pommala Sunil Kumar, launched the awareness initiative in front of the Water Board’s Suvarna Bhavan located within the Malleshwaram Assembly Constituency. During the formal launch event, officials released informative pamphlets detailing the upcoming registration procedures.

Key municipal and election officials attended the rollout, including Additional Commissioner S.R. Pallavi, Electoral Registration Officer M. Srinivasa, and authorized representatives from major political parties. Following the inauguration, a vibrant street procession marched through surrounding neighborhoods. The promotional event featured traditional Chende drum troupes and decorated auto-rickshaws, while volunteers distributed informational pamphlets to students, local residents, and passersby to spread awareness about the electoral revision.

The special registration drive is scheduled for September nineteenth and twentieth across the entire jurisdiction of the Bengaluru District Election Officer. During these two days, citizens can visit their designated local polling stations, revenue ward offices, or the offices of Electoral Registration and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers. Voters can utilize these centers to verify their names and addresses, submit corrections, register new entries, and handle necessary administrative amendments on the electoral rolls.

To maximize public reach, authorities have deployed specialized auto-rickshaw campaigns equipped with public address systems and banners. Seven dedicated vehicles are conducting extensive publicity patrols throughout the Malleshwaram constituency to ensure maximum turnout before enrollment deadlines pass. Officials urged all eligible residents who missed previous registration windows to take advantage of the special weekend drive and secure their democratic voting rights.
