Haveri youth urged to join Bharat Jodo Associations

CH NEWS, HAVERI

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vijayamahantesh Danammavara said the government plans to establish 10,000 Bharat Jodo Youth Associations across Karnataka to encourage sports, cultural activities, scientific thinking and social harmony among young people.

Around 6,000 associations will be formed in Gram Panchayat areas and 4,000 in urban areas.

Each association will be eligible for a grant of Rs. 10 lakh to support its activities. The Deputy Commissioner said socially active youth in Haveri district should come forward and establish associations with at least 100 members. The initiative is intended to bring young people together and encourage their participation in community development.

Under the registration guidelines, associations must be registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960. Each association should have at least 100 young men and women, while members must be residents of the same ward or local area. Youth between 18 and 35 years are eligible, and an Aadhaar card is mandatory for registration. A fee of Rs. 10 will be collected for identity cards, and one trainer will be appointed for every association.

Dr. Danammavara urged young people from different castes, religions, communities, languages and backgrounds to work together and build stronger local communities. Associations should prepare annual activity calendars covering sports, fitness, community development, environmental protection, health, yoga, culture, social harmony, skills and youth empowerment.

He appealed to enthusiastic youth and women to take advantage of the programme and contribute to nation-building through active participation. The registration process is being implemented across the district. Young people seeking more information can contact their Gram Panchayat, Town Panchayat ward, Taluk Panchayat or Nagar Sabha office. Officials encouraged eligible youth to register and work collectively for stronger and healthier communities.
