Gadag police have arrested seven accused, including an RMP doctor and a staff nurse, on serious charges of raping a 26-year-old woman on different days and illegally aborting her after she became pregnant.
The main accused arrested are residents of Betageri Sikandar Bepari, Shabir Ahmed alias Junasaab, Mohammed Rafiq Langoti, Pradeep Sagar Navlekar, Bharat Mahadevappa Koravara and Sandeep Sagar Navlekar. Along with them, RMP doctor Nagaraj Chidananda Kamatar of Bellatti village and staff nurse Rekha Fakirappa Shirahatti of Shigli have also been arrested for their alleged involvement in the illegal abortion.
The Gadag police, who had registered a case based on the complaint of the victim, immediately sprang into action, took all the accused into custody and took further legal action.
