Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar is heading to Delhi to meet with Congress party leaders regarding the long-awaited state cabinet expansion. The trip follows the conclusion of recent political protests in the capital led by senior party figures.
On 27th July evening, the Chief Minister plans to host a meeting with union ministers and local members of parliament at Karnataka Bhavan. Following this gathering, he is scheduled to sit down with party high command leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, to finalize the official list of ministerial candidates.
Party insiders indicate that the official expansion could happen as early as 29th or 30th July. This timeline has created intense excitement among local politicians. A large group of junior legislators, elected for the first or second time, has actively been lobbying the leader to ensure younger faces secure priority positions in the upcoming reshuffle.
At the same time, veteran politicians are also pushing hard for their own spots in the government. The intense competition has brought a rush of hopeful candidates to the capital to plead their cases directly to top decision-makers.
Party general secretary K.C. Venugopal previously noted that the expansion could occur at any moment, boosting expectations across the region. Once these crucial discussions in Delhi conclude, the final lineup of new ministers is expected to be announced very soon, ending months of eager speculation for the local government.
