Gadag city police have arrested three members of an interstate “mask gang” involved in a series of house burglaries, solving a major theft case. The accused—Mohammed Rafiq (36) of Dakshina Kannada, Imran Tigadi (40) of Belagavi and Moula Ali Darga (34) of Haveri—targeted locked houses while wearing masks and gloves to avoid leaving evidence. Police recovered property worth ₹42.73 lakh, including gold jewellery, silver articles, cash and two cars used in the crimes. Investigators also cracked a temple theft case, recovering ornaments stolen from the Sri Mahalakshmi Temple. Police said Mohammed Rafiq alone faces 68 criminal cases across Karnataka.
