Harangi reservoir nears capacity amid steady monsoon inflows

The Harangi Reservoir reached a total water level of 2,855.18 feet, nearing its maximum capacity of 2,859 feet. Comparative official records show the reservoir stood at 2,856.46 feet on the same date last year. The local catchment area received 1.20 mm of daily rainfall, down from 8.80 mm recorded previously. Meanwhile, incoming water inflow rose significantly to 4,326 cusecs compared to 3,308 cusecs last year. Water management authorities are currently releasing 180 cusecs into the river bed alongside an additional 350 cusecs into the irrigation canal, marking a notable reduction from last year’s river discharge of 4,500 cusecs.
