NR Group, the makers of Cycle Pure Agarbathi and owners of the Mysore Warriors franchise, officially launched the women’s team for the second edition of the Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 Tournament in Mysuru on Monday. Promising Karnataka cricketer Shubha Satheesh has been appointed as the captain for the upcoming season.
After a strong performance in the first edition, Mysore Warriors are returning with a stronger squad and renewed confidence. The franchise continues its efforts to promote women’s cricket in Karnataka and has maintained its partnership with Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV), Mysuru. The team will receive guidance from former Indian women’s cricketer Karuna Jain, who continues as head coach.
The launch event was attended by Deepika T.C., captain of the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team that won the World Cup and an alumna of Rangarao Memorial School for the Disabled. She congratulated the team and appreciated Mysore Warriors for supporting inclusivity and creating opportunities for athletes from different backgrounds.
Deepika said support from franchises like Mysore Warriors plays an important role in encouraging women cricketers. She thanked the Ranga family for helping her pursue cricket through Rangarao Memorial School for the Disabled and said the training and confidence she received helped her achieve success.
Mysore Warriors owner and Cycle Pure Agarbathi Managing Director Arjun Ranga said the franchise aims to create professional opportunities for talented women players. He added that the positive response from the previous season encouraged the team to continue supporting young girls interested in cricket.
Captain Shubha Satheesh said the team has prepared well and aims to win the championship. She promised that players would show fearless and positive cricket throughout the tournament. Coach Karuna Jain expressed confidence in the squad, saying the team has a good mix of experienced and young players.
The Maharani Trophy KSCA T20 2026 will feature teams from Bengaluru, Hubballi, Gulbarga and Mysuru. The tournament will be played at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, from July 22 to August 2. Mysore Warriors will continue supporting KGBV by providing sports equipment and also donated cheques worth ₹3 lakh to social initiatives including Usha Kiran Eye Hospital and Ability Sports League Cricket Organisation.
