Minister Patil said Luxembourg seeks stronger Karnataka ties, praising Bengaluru’s technology sector, skilled workforce, industrial environment, and Silicon City status

Karnataka has invited Luxembourg and Japanese companies to explore investment opportunities and partnerships in the state, especially in technology, innovation and industrial sectors. Large and Medium Industries Minister M.B. Patil held discussions with representatives from Luxembourg and Japan to strengthen business relations and attract new investments.
Luxembourg Deputy Prime Minister Xavier Bettle is scheduled to visit Bengaluru from September 7 to 9. Ahead of the visit, Luxembourg Ambassador to India Christian Beaver and Embassy Counselor Maxime Victor met Minister Patil at Mineral Bhavan on Monday. During the meeting, both sides discussed possibilities for increasing cooperation in investment, technology and innovation.
Minister Patil said Luxembourg has shown interest in expanding business relations with Karnataka. He highlighted Bengaluru’s position as India’s Silicon City and appreciated the state’s strong industrial environment, skilled workforce and growing technology sector. The Luxembourg delegation was informed about the opportunities available in the Queen City project being developed between Dabasapete and Doddaballapur. Universities, companies and innovation centres have been invited to participate and invest in the project.
Patil also explained that Luxembourg-based Ceratizit is already manufacturing advanced industrial cutting tools in India. He pointed out Luxembourg’s expertise in steel, automobile, engineering, clean energy, industrial equipment and space technology sectors. He added that Bengaluru-based companies Infosys and Wipro have investments and operations in Luxembourg, showing the existing business connection between both regions.
