India’s aviation sector saw recovery in international traffic in May as geopolitical tensions eased in West Asia, a report said. International passengers rose to about 2.3 million, up 24 percent month-on-month, while RPK reached 8 billion, up 12 percent. Flight departures increased to 14,200 and capacity also improved. Load factor rose to 76.6 percent, showing stronger demand. Domestic traffic also stayed strong at 15.4 million passengers with steady growth. Fuel prices declined but a weak rupee kept costs high for airlines.
