large cycle rally was organised in Kolar on Friday to create public awareness about the Special Comprehensive Revision of the Voters List-2026. The programme was jointly organised by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and the District SVEEP Committee to encourage people to participate actively in the democratic process.
The awareness rally began from the IB at Bangarpet Circle in Kolar city. District Collector Dr. M. R. Ravi, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Praveen P. Bagewadi and other senior officials flagged off the event. Officers, staff members and representatives from different government departments joined the rally with great enthusiasm.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ravi said democracy becomes stronger when every eligible citizen takes part in elections. He urged all qualified voters to register their names, make necessary corrections and verify their details in the voters list. He added that every citizen should use this opportunity and become a responsible voter.
Dr. Praveen P. Bagewadi said registering in the voters list is both a fundamental right and an important responsibility. He explained that the main aim of the campaign is to spread awareness and ensure every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll.
Officials from district and taluk departments, along with municipal officers and staff, participated in the cycle rally. Throughout the event, participants educated the public about voter registration, corrections and verification procedures. The rally delivered a strong message on the importance of voting and encouraged citizens to take part in strengthening democracy through active electoral participation across the district.
