PAVAGADA
There are no permanent teachers in 32 schools across the taluk, causing concern over the education of children, said BJP leader Ravi during a press conference on Monday.
He alleged that many primary schools in the backward taluk are facing a shortage of teachers and demanded immediate action from the government. He said the Taluk Field Education Officer is aware of the issue and highlighted the situation at B Hosahalli where 102 children are studying without a permanent teacher.
Ravi questioned how deputed teachers could manage teaching along with other responsibilities like cooking duties. He added that some schools do not have enough teachers and even hot meal arrangements are affected due to shortages of supplies.
State BJP executive member Dr. G. Venkataramaiah said government schools are important for poor children and called for better focus on education facilities. He said children from backward communities depend on these schools and teacher shortage can harm their future.
The BJP leaders urged authorities to appoint permanent teachers soon and improve basic facilities in schools. They said education should receive priority as it plays a major role in building a stronger society. Other party members including Manjunath and Puneeth attended the press conference and supported the demand for immediate recruitment of teachers in government schools across Pavagada taluk to ensure quality learning opportunities.
