National Pulse Polio programme review meeting held at Mundargi

A Taluk Level Task Force Committee meeting regarding the implementation of the National Pulse Polio Programme was held on June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Tahsildar’s Office, Mundargi, under the chairmanship of the Honorable Tahsildar and Taluk Magistrate.

Welcoming the participants, Taluk Health Education Officer Smt. M.S. Sajjanara greeted the chairperson and officials from various departments. Addressing the meeting, Taluk Health Officer Dr. Santhosh Gowda Patil informed that the National Pulse Polio Programme will be conducted from June 28 to July 1, 2026.

He explained that on June 28, polio vaccination will be administered to children aged 0 to 5 years at designated booth centers. From June 29 to July 1, health workers will conduct door-to-door visits to vaccinate children who could not attend the booths.

Dr. Patil stated that 104 teams have been constituted in the taluk, including one mobile team and five transit teams, with a target of vaccinating 12,597 children.

Speaking on the occasion, Taluk Health Education Officer Smt. M.S. Sajjanara said that health department staff would visit every household to ensure that no eligible child is left out of the immunization drive.

The Tahsildar instructed Gram Panchayat PDOs to create awareness among the public through drumbeats, public announcements, and miking campaigns at the village level. The Executive Officer of the Taluk Panchayat directed PDOs to arrange food facilities for booth staff during the campaign.

The Municipal Chief Officer was instructed to publicize the programme through miking in Mundargi town and ensure breakfast and lunch arrangements for vaccination personnel working in all 23 municipal wards.

The Block Education Officer was asked to create awareness through student rallies (jathas) in schools. The Assistant Executive Engineer of HESCOM assured uninterrupted power supply during the four-day programme. Various departments were also requested to provide vehicle support for the successful implementation of the campaign. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Smt. M.S. Sajjanara, who expressed gratitude to the chairperson and all departmental officers for their cooperation.
