The Income Tax Department successfully hosted a comprehensive outreach and awareness programme focused on the landmark New Income Tax Act, 2025, detailing its fresh compliance requirements at the Conference Hall of the C.R. Building.

The session was organized by the Income Tax Officer (ITO) Ward-1(1), Mangaluru, and their team under the direct guidance of the Additional Commissioner of Income Tax, Range-1, Mangaluru. The event saw active participation from tax practitioners, financial consultants, and representatives from various regional educational institutions.

The primary objective of the drive was to provide an in-depth overview of the key statutory provisions under the newly minted legislation. To facilitate seamless digital onboarding, the department set up prominent banner standees equipped with QR codes, allowing attendees to instantly download the revised structural tax forms onto their mobile devices.

The technical session kicked off with a crisp three-minute introductory video outlining the core philosophies of the new law, followed by a thorough walkthrough of the official central presentation titled “PRARAMBH 2026 – Rollout of Nationwide Awareness Campaign on Income-tax Act, 2025.”

Departmental experts gave live demonstrations of several newly integrated digital tools on the official portal, showcasing the interactive Kar Sathi Chatbot, upcoming live Samvaad grievance sessions, and an exhaustive 50-slide PowerPoint presentation designed to simplify compliance. In a unique move to encourage tax literacy among younger demographics, officials also introduced the Madhukar Comic Book as an innovative narrative tool for taxpayer education.

Special emphasis was placed on the Kar Sethu FAQ module, which serves as a transitional bridge explaining the legal interplay between the legacy Income-tax Act, 1961, and the fresh 2025 legislation. Attendees were briefed on 11 newly dedicated brochures covering structural statutory forms and a master highlight brochure summarizing the Act’s core, taxpayer-friendly features. Officials reiterated that this initiative is part of a broader, aggressive nationwide campaign aimed at fostering a culture of voluntary compliance and enhancing ease of business.
