Vijayapura
MLA Vittal Katakadonda highlighted the impact of the state government’s five guarantee schemes, describing them as a strong support system for poor and vulnerable sections of society.
He was speaking after distributing motorized tricycles to 32 differently-abled beneficiaries under the MLA Local Area Development Fund programme. The event was jointly organised by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens.
The MLA said the government has introduced several welfare-oriented schemes aimed at improving the living standards of economically weaker groups. He urged citizens to make full use of these benefits and stated that sincere implementation of public programmes always yields positive results.
Katakadonda also stressed that the Constitution provides several rights and facilities for differently-abled persons. He said the motorized tricycles would help beneficiaries in their daily mobility, enhance independence, and reduce dependence on others.
He added that the government is working to build confidence among differently-abled individuals by providing assistive equipment and financial support. He encouraged eligible beneficiaries to stay informed about available schemes and utilise them effectively.
On the occasion, officials noted that the beneficiaries are also supported through monthly pensions, free bus passes, and educational assistance, including support for higher education. They urged differently-abled persons to take advantage of these opportunities and actively participate in society through self-reliance.
Several officials and public representatives, including Sub-Divisional Officer Gurunath Dadde and Guarantee Schemes Committee members, were present at the programme. The event highlighted the government’s continued focus on welfare delivery and inclusive development initiatives in the region.
