Chandrashekar Kandakura issues strict water supply orders

RONA

As a harsh summer heatwave grips the region, local leaders are taking urgent steps to stop a growing water crisis. Executive Officer Chandrashekar B. Kandakura has issued strict orders to ensure every resident in Rona taluk has enough to drink. He warned that any staff found ignoring these duties will face serious consequences.

During a major review meeting with village officials and water staff, Kandakura directed Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs) to visit their assigned villages twice every single day. By inspecting water systems in both the morning and evening, officials can catch problems like broken pipes or failing motors before they leave families thirsty. If a borewell runs dry, the government must provide an alternative water source immediately.

The meeting focused on several hidden causes of water shortages, including falling water levels, electrical faults, and leaking pipelines. Kandakura told the team that “responsible work” is the only way to get through the summer. He emphasized that clean drinking water must reach every household without delay. Beyond immediate fixes, the team discussed long-term goals like saving lakes and conserving rainwater to prevent future shortages.

The message to the staff was clear, coordination is key. All departments must work together to respond quickly to public complaints. By finishing pending repair projects and keeping a close eye on the supply, the taluk aims to protect its citizens from the heat. This proactive approach ensures that no village is left behind as temperatures continue to rise.
