KPCC South District Campaign Committee convener Mrs. Krupa Alva said that even though the Women’s Reservation Bill was passed in Parliament in 2023 the Central Government is delaying its implementation She spoke at a media conference in Bengaluru and accused government of misleading people on women’s empowerment She said not implementing the 33 percent reservation even after Parliament approval is an injustice to women She demanded immediate action from the Centre to fulfil its promise.
She also raised concerns over constituency delimitation being planned before reservation is implemented She warned that population based delimitation could change the political balance in several constituencies She said Bengaluru may face social and political imbalance if changes are made without care She added that delaying women’s reservation goes against constitutional values and weakens democracy She criticised the Centre for prioritising political benefits over women’s rights.
KPCC leaders R Arun Kumar Dinesh Prasad Mallikarjun Amarnath Nagaveni Krishnamurthy and Bhagya were present at the press meet They supported the demand for quick implementation of the bill They said women must get equal political opportunities They urged Centre to avoid further delay and respect women representation rights Speakers said the issue is important for future of Indian democracy They called for fair delimitation process that does not harm women or smaller regions They hoped for early justice to women voters nationwide.
