Senior police officer B.N. Lavanya passed away after battling cancer. She died at a private hospital in the city, officials confirmed. Lavanya was serving as SP in Bescom Vigilance since 2023. Originally from Chikkaballapur district, she had earlier worked in Mandya and Ballari in key roles. She also served in intelligence and DCRE units in Bengaluru. Lavanya is survived by her young son and daughter. Senior officials had recently visited and supported her during treatment. Her death has saddened colleagues and the police department across the state deeply.
