Hassan
A series of tragic road accidents in Karnataka claimed several lives, leaving families in deep grief. In Hassan district, a groom-to-be died in a car accident while heading for his pre-wedding shoot. The deceased, Manu L.N., was a resident of Lakkunda village in Belur taluk and was scheduled to marry on May 10. The accident occurred near Mugali village in Sakleshpur taluk when the car lost control and hit a tree. Manu died on the spot, casting a shadow over his family’s wedding preparations. Sakleshpur Rural Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
In another incident in Hassan district, a mother and her one-and-a-half-year-old child died after their car fell into the Hemavati canal near Mallanaghatta on National Highway 75 in Channarayapatna. The victims, Priyanka (30) and her child Vaibhav, were returning from a wedding in Dharmasthala. Four others in the car were seriously injured and admitted to a local hospital. Police have registered a case.
In a separate accident in Udupi district, three people died when a college tour bus collided with a tanker and a parked lorry near Maravanthe Beach. Several students were injured and are undergoing treatment. Police are investigating all the incidents.
