Deputy Commissioner Dr. Anand K has announced that citizens can take part in the self-enumeration process for the upcoming Census from April 1 to April 15. He said the Census is an important scientific exercise that records not only the population but also socio-economic conditions and cultural diversity across the country.
This will be India’s 16th Census and the first to be conducted in a digital format. The process will be carried out in two phases starting April, making participation easier and more efficient for citizens.
To complete self-enumeration, people can log in to the official portal using their mobile number and OTP. After logging in, they must select their location, mark their house on the digital map, and fill in household details carefully. Once submitted, a Self-Enumeration Reference ID will be generated, which should be saved and shared with the enumerator during verification.
Officials said the portal can be accessed through mobile phones, desktops, and laptops. Citizens must provide correct details such as state, district, taluk, and village or city. Guidelines and FAQs are also available on the portal for assistance.
Enumerators will visit households from April 16 to May 15 to verify the information. If self-enumeration is not completed, they will collect details directly.
Dr. Anand K urged people to use this facility, stating it ensures data confidentiality and helps save time while providing accurate information.
