NEW DELHI
India’s tech scene just got a massive boost as the government officially cleared 29 new projects to manufacture electronic parts right here at home. This ambitious move involves a staggering investment of $7,104$ crore and is set to change the lives of many by creating over 14,000 new jobs. It is a major step toward making India a global leader in gadgets and digital tools.
S. Krishnan, a top official at the Ministry of Electronics and IT, shared that these projects will produce electronic components worth more than $84,515$ crore. By making these parts locally instead of buying them from abroad, India is securing its spot in the worldwide supply chain. This latest round of approvals brings the total number of cleared projects to 75, showing how quickly the country’s digital economy is sprinting ahead.
The official also noted that our digital world is growing twice as fast as the rest of the economy. Beyond just building hardware, there is a strong focus on nurturing local talent and keeping our data safe. For instance, new training centers and high-tech security labs are popping up to ensure the youth are ready for these new roles. Experts believe that depending on our own technology, especially for cybersecurity, is vital for the nation’s safety. With more factories opening and thousands of people finding work, India is successfully plugging into a high-tech future that promises growth for everyone.
