A man allegedly addicted to alcohol created a tense situation by climbing a mobile tower and demanding liquor in Kotyal village of Tikota taluk in Vijayapura district.
According to reports, the individual, identified as Shrisail, a resident of Kotyal village, climbed the tower and refused to come down, insisting that he would only descend if he was given alcohol. His actions caused panic among locals, who gathered at the spot Shrisail is said to be a habitual offender and has previously climbed mobile towers and created similar disturbances. In fact, this is reportedly the third such incident involving him in the past two years. Villagers stated that he often engages in such reckless behaviour due to his addiction.
On receiving information, Tikota police rushed to the scene and persuaded him to come down safely. After some effort, the police managed to bring the situation under control without any untoward incident. Authorities have urged the public to avoid such dangerous acts and warned of strict action against those creating public nuisance.
