Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi strongly criticised the United States and Israel over recent strikes on civilian sites, calling them serious violations of international law.

Addressing a debate at the United Nations, Araghchi highlighted a deadly attack on a girls’ school in Minab that reportedly killed more than 160 people. He described the strike as a deliberate act and termed it a war crime, urging global action against those responsible.

He warned that silence from the international community would only encourage further violence and weaken global peace efforts. According to him, the principles of the United Nations and the broader human rights framework are at risk if such incidents go unchecked.

Araghchi stressed that Iran does not seek conflict but will continue to defend itself for as long as necessary. He said the country remains determined to respond to what he described as ongoing aggression.

He also pointed to widespread damage to civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, water facilities, and residential areas. Over 600 schools have reportedly been damaged, with many students and teachers affected.

Calling the attacks unjust, he urged nations to hold those responsible accountable. His remarks come as tensions remain high, with continued strikes despite recent signals of possible de-escalation.
