MP Yaduveer inaugurates MP’s Badminton Tournament

The Central BJP Government has introduced the Fit India programme with the objective of keeping the entire nation healthy and active. Everyone must adopt a healthy lifestyle, said Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Member of Parliament from Mysuru–Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency.

He was speaking after inaugurating the MP’s Badminton Tournament organised at the Sports Park in Bogadi 2nd Stage, Mysuru.

Fit India is a major initiative of the Central Government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this campaign on August 29, 2019, on the occasion of National Sports Day. As part of this initiative, the MP’s Badminton Tournament has been organised, the MP said.

Daily physical exercise must

Yaduveer urged the public to exercise daily. Exercising for at least 30–60 minutes can help control diabetes and heart diseases. Hence, youth and school/college students must give priority to fitness. The fitness clubs, yoga camps, cycling events, and sports activities are being organised in both rural and urban areas.

APN Properties managing partner A.P. Nagesh,  said that under the Fit India movement, activities such as the Freedom Run, Fit India Cyclothon, Fit India School Certification, collecting litter while running or walking, yoga and AYUSH programmes, and Fit India Dialogue—interactive sessions with renowned sportspersons—are being conducted across the country as per Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidelines. These initiatives have greatly contributed to building a healthier society.

Industrialist Rajeev Kumar, Prasiddi Ravi, M. Nagaraj, Jain Ashok, P. Rohit, and others were present.

More than 400 participants from Mysuru and surrounding towns took part in the badminton tournament.
