Countdown to November Revolution, BJP trolls Congress over CM post

BENGALURU

As speculation intensifies over a possible change in Karnataka’s Chief Minister post, the BJP has taken a jibe at the Congress, dubbing the anticipated leadership shuffle the “November Revolution.” The ruling party appears divided, with tensions simmering between Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar over the state’s top post.

On social media platform X, the BJP released a satirical video showing a game of musical chairs featuring Siddaramaiah, Shivakumar, Satish Jarkiholi, and G Parameshwara, with the caption: “Countdown to November Revolution begins.” The clip mocked what the BJP termed Congress’s “power struggle disguised as governance.”

Two days ago, Siddaramaiah dismissed internal suggestions of a leadership change, stating in Mysuru, “We must all obey the party high command. I will continue as Chief Minister for five years.” Yet, speculation continues about a mid-term CM transition in November, coinciding with the halfway point of the Congress government’s tenure.

DK Shivakumar’s supporters maintain pressure for him to assume the top post, citing his pivotal role in consolidating the party. Political circles in the state point to a possible power-sharing arrangement between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar as a reason behind the ongoing rumours.

As November approaches, the tussle has not only become a topic of political debate but also a point of satire leveraged by the opposition, with the BJP highlighting perceived divisions within the Congress.
