BIDAR
A new book titled “Culture Vision of Indian Festivals” written by Mukkanna Karigara has been officially released, celebrating the diversity and cultural depth of Indian traditions. The launch event took place at the Zilla Panchayat Hall as part of the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Girisha Badole inaugurated the book and praised the author’s insightful writing. “This work beautifully explains how festivals like Mahashivaratri, Gauri-Ganesha, Diwali, and Akshaya Tritiya have shaped Indian culture. The sections on Holi and Balipadyami focus on personality development and social values, making this book both cultural and educational,” he said.
The book offers a unique analysis of fifteen major festivals celebrated across India, presenting their historical, spiritual, and social significance in an engaging way. Mohammad Basheer, Superintendent of the Bidar Zilla Panchayat Development Department, highlighted that the book provides new perspectives on the meaning and purpose of these celebrations.
Several dignitaries attended the event, including Chief Planning Officer Kishorekumar Dubai, Project Director Suryakanta Biradara, Executive Engineer Shivaji Doni, and officers Ramesh Nath, Birasingh, Jayaprakash Chauhan, Subhash, and Rajasekhara Nalli. The event was well-coordinated by Praveenaswamy, who welcomed the guests and conducted the program.
The author, Mukkanna Karigara, who also serves as Deputy Secretary of the Bidar Zilla Panchayat, said his goal was to remind people of the moral and cultural lessons festivals bring to Indian life.
