B’luru to get international-standard cricket stadium: Zameer Ahmad Khan

The Karnataka Housing Board (KHB) will develop an international-standard cricket stadium and sports complexat an estimated cost of Rs 2,350 crore on 75 acres under the comprehensive development project of the Suryanagar Phase-4 Layout in Bengaluru. The state cabinet has given its nod for its implementation, said Housing Minister Zameer Ahmad Khan.

Speaking after the cabinet meeting, he said that this is a significant project and the cricket stadium will have a seating capacity of 80,000, and the complex will include facilities for 24 different indoor and outdoor sports, as well as an auditorium with 3,000 seats. With these world-class facilities, it will become one of the largest sports stadiums in the country.

Regarding the project, a proposal was prepared and instructed to be submitted to the cabinet following a meeting chaired by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on August 8. Accordingly, the proposal was presented on Thursday’s cabinet meeting and received in-principle approval from the cabinet, he added.

Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Nasir Ahmed, Council Member Abdul Jabbar, Corporation Chairman Prof Jafat and KMDC President Altaf Khan were present.

 Minority Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan launched 15 projects of the Karnataka Christian Development Corporation in Bengaluru. Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Nasir Ahmed, Council Member Abdul Jabbar, Corporation chairman Prof Jafat and KMDC president Altaf Khan look on.
